A Message to Our Patients and the Community

Ralph_cyganYou may have seen Nov. 11, 2005 news stories about UCI Medical Center’s liver transplant program. The articles focus on information contained in a federal report – issued by the U.S. Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services – which details a number of deficiencies with the program. Although we were diligently working with CMS to improve this program, we believe it is in the best interest of our patients and organization to close the liver transplant program. This action has no impact on our other transplant programs.

Patients currently on the liver transplant list are being contacted to ensure a smooth transition to another transplant program and that they have access to appropriate care. Patients and families who have further questions or concerns should call 714-456-8441.

Sincerely, Ralph W. Cygan, MD, Chief Executive Officer

Cygan must have gone to lunch before finishing his last two paragraphs since he left out:

Well, having firsthand knowledge of the transplant program, I am not surprised by the demise of it. Once people start digging deeper into Dr Imagawa's underhanded behavior, I think we may see a real criminal investigation....

Well, having firsthand knowledge of the transplant program...

Gee, Sherlock, why didn't you call the authorities if you knew of underhanded behavior? Anyway, since when is "underhanded" the same as illegal?

I was on the liver transplant list for over a year. I want to see Dr.Imagawa swinging from my back yard tree.
let him explain to GOD his thinking that he was Jesus when his time comes!
