Memo to the Commissar
Had to laugh at the multi-orgasmic reactions of the Larryland staff at the plethora of choices they face in choosing a design firm for the Great Park as reported this a.m. in Great Park board seeks coalition. Board members "were torn by the BOLD vs. safe," "conflicted" and "overwhelmed".
It's not hard, Commissar -- take the low bidder. We know that not usual business practice in your collective considering your dismal record in competitive bidding situations (when you allow them) -- it's the small number.
Update: Here's the LAT story from Jean Pasco on all the consternation from Friday (TypePad was down most of the day): Great Park Design: Tough Choice.
Seems like a great way to have an ugly and non-functional park (remember the story of the three blind men and the elephant) and insure it goes way over budget and schedule.
