More Reax On "The Letter"
Total Buzz reports the Governor -- not to be outdone in the hyperbole department -- is outraged and calling the letter a "hate crime." Really, Governor? A "hate crime." Dial down the pandering a notch, Arnold - your re-election is a lock. This letter qualifies as a "stupid" crime, not a hate crime.
No word on whether Phil Angelides has figured out how to tie the letter to Arnold and George Bush.
Secretary of State Bruce McPherson is trying to horn in on AG Bill Lockyer's investigation action.
Over at Orange Juice, Luis posts a letter sent to the US Attorney from MALDEF and a coalition of the usual suspects (although somehow the Southern Poverty Law Center didn't make the list), requesting an investigation of Barbara Coe and the California Coalition for Immigration Reform. Will MALDEF & Friends pick up the Coe's and CCIR's legal bill if an investigation turns up nothing? Somehow, I doubt it - they'll be exploiting the next controversy by then.
Make sure you read the comments to Luis's post. The denizens of OC's leftwing fever swamp are really in a lather!
Jubal,
Interestingly enough, the discussion at OJ has also let to finding that it is not just recent registered voters but also voters who have registered over 10 years ago. My parents are one of those citizens who received the letter. Let me know if you would like a copy.

Luis,
I would very much like to see the letter. I've read the translation on Claudio's post, and saw a small, bad picture on LA Opinion online.
Can you e-mail it to me at matt@redcounty.com?
This whole thing is very hinky.
