So Far, So Good...
The first absentees were just posted, and it looks like the good guys are winning.
Pat Bates is beating Cassie DeYoung by nearly 10 points.
Denis Bilodeau is beating Carol Rudat by a little more than 10 points.
Carolyn Cavecche is murdalizing Mike Alvarez in the Orange mayor's race by 25 points.
Measure M is winning so far.
Measure X is going down hard.
Loretta Sanchez is beating Tan Nguyen, but not by the margin one might expect -- just 56% to 43%.
And Lynn Daucher is killing Lou Correa in the absentees, 58.5% to 41.5%. OUCH!
Well, hmph!
I'm glad SOMEONE'S happy!
Over at MY place I'm about to go across the street to the gas station, and buy a 6 pack, and Nikita, my Cat, is so depressed he's coughing up hairballs at every Democratic pick-up! ;-D
I've already announced who I'm supporting in the election of 2056, when the Party makes its long awaited comeback. ;-D

Talk about the good guys winning, each of the ABC Reform Slate candidates are winning for CUSD Trustee positions by very comfortable margins!

Looking good so far! My eyes are on Costa Mesa council's 2nd seat and making sure the libertarian doesn't get a hold.

I would like to know who is voting for Ms. Martinez? Last time I checked she had a bad reputation.

The one with a bad reputation in Santa Ana is Tim Whitacre. His candidate better win in Ward 6 or he is finished in this city. Even if she wins, his buddy Tino is tanking in Ward 2...

A business associate of mine drove by Carol Rudat's house in Orange a few minutes ago. There is already a "FOR SALE" sign up.

Did Jubal just call Loretta one of the good guys?

I guess it does read that way. But no -- this would be a case (from my perspective) of two competing political evils.

Looks like Jennifer Rudat, er, Villasenor will be heading back to her HB apartment now.
Final Tally
Sal Tinajero-8807=42.4%
Jen Villasenor- 8227=39.6%
Looks like the only disaster that occured was a 12 year incumbent Mayor losing 2 of 3 races that he spent HUNDREDS of THOUSANDS on.

All three ABC Reform Slate candidates won their CUSD trustee seats by VERY comfortable margins. Too bad the other four incumbents were't on the ballot, as well. At least we know how things probably would have gone if a special recall election had been certified.
So long Casabianca. Bye bye Henness. Hey Draper, Benecke, Darnold and Stiff -- wonder what's next?
Way to go CUSD Recall Committee!

Wow!
Is Tan Nguyen for real? Does he real think hovering over people at a polling booth on November 7, will real help his cause? I think it might have worked in back in elementary school, I guess he does what has worked for him as an adult. He real should have step aside as he was asked by the party (he must think he is bigger than the party), but instead he will continue to disgrace himself, his family, the Vietnamese community, the GOP and Orange County. This guy was always way over his head; a) He never was a serious contender, b) He sent out a letter that he did not comprehend (on letterhead that was not his by a couple who happen to be his friend and staff member), c) He first denies his campaign sent the letter, d) He accuses and fires his staff member for the letter, e) He does an about face and tries to re-hire his staff member, f) He has a tissy fit and blames the whole thing on his opponent, which brings me to his campaign theme which is “I Blame other for my shortcomings, I do not take full responsibility for my mistakes and do not show grace under pressure”. Well, yesterday “Joe Public” “Told Him It Like It Is". How appropriate!

The country has spoken and has said what most people, democrats or republicans want: We say we want change. We say we want to stop corruption. We say we want more financial restrain, accountability and transparency.
Then we elect a centrist governor in California and a life-long politician in Bates. At least Prince and the OCR will continue to be paid!
Hold on to your wallets! – what we should have said before the election is, “lie to me and make me feel good” – which the election results reflect we want!
