Election Day

Its always interesting to hear Election Day anecdotes.  So anyone who voted today in the district or happens to be a political junkie that bothers to go to a polling place, post what you know.

-What is the % turnout at any given precinct as of [ENTER TIME HERE]?

-Are there any lines?

-Ask poll workers for any stories, thoughts on turnout, what people are saying.

Thanks in advance.

Also please let us know if you see anyone arriving at polling places with bags of ballots ready to drop. Make note of any details like, they looked Vietnamese or they were wearing a t-shirt with a donkey on it or a hat that said, Support your Local Union!

ROFLMAO

LOL, that is funny, but not intelligent. Let's the workers from the registrar of voters take care of that. Relax!!!. It is California, not Florida, So chill out, everyone.

I haven't heard it this election, but I did hear during the last election some radio announcements stating that absentee ballots could be turned into a candidate's office a few days before the election for mailing to ensure that the deadline was met. I think this is pretty common in OC, but I don't know if it is illegal.

Just voted for Umberg! I am not in any Union. I do not work for the county. I met him and he made sense. I used to enjoy reading this blog. Sometime I agreed with your postings and sometimes did not. But before elections this blog gets bought out by one candidate or another. In this election my guess is Bustamante.
I will start reading again after this election is over.

Hi Independent Voter:

You are right, just leave Tom alone with his girl friend.

So sorry for his wife and family.

"I just voted
I wrote in Art Pedroza. I think he would do a great job?"

Ah Phil, it's a felony for a Riversidian to vote in Orange County.

Please go back on your side of the tunnel.

I voted at 2pm and the place was empty. not unsusual at that hour, but I also glanced at the book while they looked for my name in the register and it didn't look like a big turnout...I'm not sure who that helps, but I guess we'll see soon enough.

I voted around 3pm. Same at my precinct. Not many names signed off on the rolls and only 2 other voters there.

I think a lot of people are real busy right now, and also it is not election season. To be honest there has not been a huge amount of major coverage (i.e., first page) in the MSM, on TV or radio, so those not interested in politics like us bloggers may not even be aware of the election. Even though it was hotly contested, it looks like not many people went to the polls today. I drove past a few sites and didn't see too many people heading in. Looks like the absentees were the real battleground.

I voted for Art In Riverside, thus no crime.

But before elections this blog gets bought out by one candidate or another. In this election my guess is Bustamante.

Great -- a tin-foil reader. I'll ask the Trilateral Commission what to do about you.

Many thought that multiple Vietnamese candidates would hurt the Viet candidates but in fact it has created competition within the Viet community and fanned the flames of voter turnout among absentees. They also have a unifying media market in radio, newspapers, and T.V. for Orange County and their community that the others lack. They are driven by a kind of tribal/ethnic pride while the other groups are not motivated in the same way in this special election. Janet or Trung are looking strong.
