Assemblyman Jose Solorio Invites Community Members To Attend 7th Annual Santa Ana Cesar Chavez Celebration This Coming Saturday March 24th
Event Will Feature Community Fair, Food, Fun, Entertainment and Speakers On The Legacy of Cesar E. Chavez
ANAHEIM, CA—Assemblyman Jose Solorio (D-Anaheim) invites members of the community to attend the 7th Annual Santa Ana Cesar E. Chavez State Holiday Celebration this coming Saturday March 24th at Cesar Chavez Campesino Park.
The event is being put on by the Irma C. Garcia Foundation, the City of Santa Ana, the Orange County First Five Services Corps of the Children and Families Commission of OC, and the Latino Youth Leadership Institute. Anthony P. Chavez, the grandchild of Cesar E. Chavez, will be giving the keynote speech at the event.
“I look forward to celebrating the inspirational story of Cesar Chavez with the community this coming Saturday. As the son and grandson of migrant farm workers, Cesar Chavez served as a role model for me growing up,” said Assemblyman Jose Solorio.
“I would like to give special thanks to Townsend Public Affairs, Personal Insurance Federation of California, Wells Fargo, AT&T, Southern California Edison, Sempra Energy/The Gas Company, Crevier BMW, Waste Management of OC, Chevron, Wescom Credit Union, Miniondas, Ware Disposal/Madison Materials, KWIZ-FM, the Sarmiento family, and Felipe Sosa. This event would not be possible with out them,” said Assemblyman Solorio.
“I am proud to represent the City of Santa Ana at this important event and look forward to educating future generations about Chavez’s legacy,” said Santa Ana City Councilmember Vincent F. Sarmiento.
The event will feature special guest speakers and entertainment recognizing the legacy and leadership of Cesar Chavez, a community fair and literacy resources for parents and youth, storytelling of the Chavez story, the free distribution of children’s books and literacy games for children of all ages, and much more.
The event will be held this coming Saturday March 24, from 1 to 5 pm at Cesar E. Chavez Campesino Park located at 3311 West 5th Street. Before the event, there is a rally which begins at 11:45 am and a march to the park that begins at 12:30 pm.
I wonder if they're going to mention Chavez's opposition to illegal immigration?
