SB 1019 Vote Delayed -- Again. Come On, Solorio -- Bring It To A Vote!

I received this a few minutes ago from OC blogger-on-hiatus Thomas Gordon:

SB 1019 WILL not be on the agenda for a hearing tomorrow despite my being told by Assemblyman Jose Solorio’s office that it would.

So not only does Jose Solorio refuse to do the business of the people by at least voting NO on this bill, but he also lies to his constituency.

I was told that this would be on the July 3 agenda, and was told this by Assembly member Solorio’s office.

Maybe Jose answers only to the President of the Professional Peace Officers Association (PPOA) and the Southern California Alliance of Law Enforcement (SCALE) who sent the following message to Jose and his fellow electeds.

"As I have said all along, PPOA and SCALE adamantly oppose this legislation to the point that if it is passed we will move quickly to oppose any term limit reform legislation publicly. There is no compromise on this. Ensure that it be understood that this will only be the beginning. I do not know how I can be more clear on this issue."

Sounds like blackmail and it should have no place in a civilized society and definitely not ever in Sacramento.

Come on, Jose -- bring it to a vote!
